About Us
The Road Centre is a place in which people are helped to reflect on their life experience and the roads along which they have travelled.
We feel The Road Centre acts as a roundabout or crossroads. At this place, people can consider changes they may wish to make and look at new directions they may wish to travel.
The Road Centre was established in 1993 and has developed over this time from an idea that would not go away to open a counselling centre and make skilled, professional counselling services available to those who need it.
Our team has grown and developed to include a number of practitioners with a variety of skills which help to make The Road Centre a vibrant, innovative service with provision for adults, children and young people.
As well as the growth of our team, we have expanded the premises from which counselling services can be delivered. In 2007 we moved to Chester le Street. We have seven counselling rooms as well as a waiting area. These rooms include a dedicated room for children and a dedicated room for young people, acknowledging the need for comfortable environments which enhance the therapeutic process.
We also know what a wide area County Durham covers and can arrange counselling sessions in both Murton and Newton Aycliffe.
Who knows what the future holds, what roads we will travel – we continue to be excited to be on this journey…
