Trainer: Denise Hardy
This workshop will provide an overview of the Counselling for Depression model. This model is developed out of the Person-Centred tradition, drawing from many recent adaptions in Person-Centred practice and developed in response to the needs of IAPT, specifically to provide an evidence-base for practice and a Humanistic framework for brief therapy.
Learning objective:
1. Examine the history and development of the Counselling for Depression Model.
2. Explore the therapeutic stance and how therapeutic outcomes are tracked and measures in Counselling for Depression.
3. Discuss ways in which clients can be helped to become aware of their emotional process, blockages and distortions to resolve their ‘stuckness’ and ‘unfinished business’.
