Trainer: Dr Laura Sanger, Clinical Psychologist & Narrative Therapist
This workshop will offer an introduction to The Tree of Life metaphor.
The Tree of Life is a methodology developed by Nczala Ncube and David Denborough to support with the traumatised refugee children. It was developed to support children to speak about trauma in ways that were not re-traumatising.
The workshop will include a brief introduction to the Tree of Life idea and then concentrate on engaging in the workshop to develop your own therapy Tree of Life in pairs or small groups. The workshops will have a large component of art, but artistic ability is not necessary!
The workshop will include:
• History of the Tree of Life idea
• Using art and questions to illustrate the parts of your therapy tree
• Forest of Life presentation
• Storms of Life discussion
• Q & A
By the end of the workshop, participants will have experienced taking part in developing a Tree of Life based on their own therapy journey and will have had the opportunity to ask questions and discuss applications.
